Richard “Dickie” Tamao Morita, 80, of Hilo, died June 3, 2023 at home. Born in Ola’a, he was retired from Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center and a member of Hilo Hooganji Mission. Friends may call at 4 p.m. June 20, 2023 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers. He is survived by sons, Jacob (Melody) Freeman and Todd (Cara) Kaneshiro of Hilo; sisters, Mildred Takaki, Betty Goto and Irene Nagata of Honolulu, Avis (Lloyd) Nomura of Kurtistown; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Matsue Fujimoto
Matsue U. ”Honey” Fujimoto, 92, of Bothell, Wash. and formerly of Hilo died Nov. 3, 2022 at home. She was born in Hilo and was a retired teacher with the State of Hawaii, Department of Education. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Saturday, June 17 at the Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Urn committal service 12 noon Monday, June 19 at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2 Pavilion. Cynthia Elaine Kaetsu, age 80, of Hilo, Hawaii, died March 20, 2023 in the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on May 29, 1942 and retired from the Life Care Center of Hilo as a Registered Nurse. Visitation will be held at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo, Hawaii on June 22, 2023 from 10 to 11 a.m.; memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Casual attire is requested. He also was a member of the Royal Order of King Kamehameha.
